Kids Triathlon Information (Saturday, April 27, 2013)
Registration
You may register online, at any of the packet pickups listed below, or on race morning for a slightly higher cash fee.

Packet Pickup
We are only offering race morning packet pickup. With less than 200 kids registered for the event, race morning packet pickup should move quickly. Packet Pickup Starts as early as 6:00am so come out any time between 6:00am and 8:00am to pickup your packet. Remember the kids start at 8:30am sharp! The adult race will be going on starting at 6:45am so traffic on 146 may be effected. Give yourself plenty of time.
Start & Finish
Transition is where parking and packet pickup are, the 6th street, Visitor’s Center Parking Lot. The kids race starts 1/4 mile away where 7th street meets the shoreline. From there the kids finish their swim, run back to their bikes in transition on 6th street and head down Kipp to South Kemah and back. Once their bikes are securely racked they will start their 1 mile run course from the 6th street parking lot to 6th Street, Texas, under the Kemah Bridge, along Grove Street and to their finish line at Star Fleet. The children will share the same run chute/course, as the adults, starting at about the 1/2 mile mark through the finish of the race. The kids post race and awards are in the same spot as the adults. After the race kids and parents will return to 6th Street to claim their bikes and remove their vehicles.
Awards
We will have awards for boys and girls in the following age groups:
Juniors 6-8 Years Old - 1st, 2nd, 3rd Place
Juniors 9-11 Years Old - 1st, 2nd, 3rd Place
Seniors 12-13 Years Old - 1st, 2nd, 3rd Place
Parking
The kids triathlon is the ONLY event that is allowed to park inside the city of Kemah. Kids Triathlon parking is to be done in the 6th street parking lot ONLY. This is the lot behind the visitor’s center and where kids transition is located. Parking in any other lot is subject to fine/tow.
Rules & Restrictions

•All swimmers must wear a swim cap.

•All riders must have their helmet buckled prior to removing their bike from the rack.

•All riders must keep their helmet buckled until their bike is put back after riding.

•All runners must wear their run number.

•Be nice to fellow children

•All children must bike and run with the flow of traffic.
Schedule of Events
Timing
Every child will receive a plastic disposable timing chip and ankle strap. The same one as the adults (as of now, subject to change to a different chip). The strap goes through the chip to secure it to the child’s left ankle. This chip is to remain on the child’s left ankle until a volunteer removes it at the finish line.
